Safety's high on the agenda

02 August 2017

ECCO Safety Group is a multi-national designer and manufacturer of vehicle safety systems and has recently moved to a new bespoke office and manufacturing facility.

ESG pays attention to the health and safety of both staff and visitors in the warehouse and production areas. All employees get a full site induction and those working in the manufacturing area are provided with uniforms and safety footwear. A full training programme is provided prior to the employee operating any equipment or machinery.

All relevant staff receives structured training on manual handling techniques in the busy logistics department. Neil Luxton, facilities manager at ESG states: “At ESG, we try to minimise the manual handling and prefer the use of fork lift trucks and other lifting equipment in order to avoid injuries.”

In the warehouse all employees must wear high-visibility vest/jacket as well as a safety helmet in certain marked areas. Moreover, warehouse and the production area have well defined designated walkways and storage areas.

Neil Luxton added “Our employees and their safety are paramount and our first priority, therefore we hold continuous training sessions about new safety features for them.”
