Dual voltage refrigerant recovery unit is awards finalist

16 January 2020

HVAC tool supplier, JAVAC, has been named a finalist in the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards 2020.

Shortlisted in the ‘AC Ancillary Product of Year’ category, the company’s R32-ready, XTR-Pro-DV A2L spark proof refrigerant recovery unit is a dual voltage recovery unit that covers eight refrigerants and is R32 ready.

Winners of the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards will be announced on 23rd January 2020 at a glittering awards ceremony at the Midland Hotel, Manchester. The awards will be hosted by the face of Soccer Saturday, Jeff Stelling, and will celebrate the best in the industry.

As the ACR industry witnesses the escalating growth of changeovers to A2L refrigerant, it’s essential to have tools designed specifically to deal with these mildly flammable gases. The XTR-Pro-DV A2L has been designed with a raft of safety features and significantly reduces the risks from sparks, making it suitable for engineers working with mildly flammable gases. The multi-purpose unit is suitable for recovering a range of CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs and A2L/R32/R1234F, offering great on-site flexibility. Another safety innovation of the XTR-Pro-DV A2L is that it is spark proof, with a 5m hard-wired cable.

The innovative unit also overcomes the challenges of working with the UK’s differing voltage electrical supplies on site. Previously this proved tricky for engineers recovering refrigerants as it meant having two different units, one suitable for each voltage. JAVAC’s innovative XTR-Pro-DV A2L makes this a thing of the past, featuring a simple switch allowing engineers to change the unit to suit the voltage, easily switching from 115V to 230V as required. This is very convenient on site since it means engineers don’t have to carry two recovery units in their vans. As an added safety feature, the unit’s X-Connect technology protects the XTR-Pro-DV A2L’s components against the damaging effects of incorrect voltage.

“Leading the market in safety, performance and convenience, the XTR-Pro-DV A2L is a must for any AC engineers’ van. With R32 taking over as the refrigerant of choice from R410A thanks to its much lower global warming potential (GWP), the XTR-Pro-DV A2L is the ideal tool for engineers looking to safely make the switch to a refrigerant that is far less of a threat to the environment” said Scott Davies, UK Sales Director at JAVAC. “We are delighted that this innovative product is being recognised at these prestigious industry awards.”

The XTR-Pro-DV A2L features a heavy duty 1/2 HP high torque AC motor, which has been designed to reduce noise and increase liquid pumping by 50%. This means fast, effective, reliable performance for engineers. The unit also saves on downtime for engineers since purging the system and self-cleaning can also be completed while the system is running so there is no need to shut down.

Designed specifically to make an engineer’s job easier, the unit is simple to transport and use.
