Planned maintenance for humidity equipment
26 March 2021
STEADY GROWTH in planned maintenance contracts for humidification and dehumidification systems has been reported by Humidity Solutions.

In most manufacturing and production processes, maintaining consistent environmental conditions is essential in achieving optimum performance of both people and equipment, and relative humidity is often a critical variable.
By setting up a planned maintenance contract, factory or facilities managers can have peace of mind that equipment will be regularly serviced and maintained, ensuring consistent performance and pre-empting breakdowns due to out of date or faulty parts. Providing stable and consistent conditions for modern manufacturing production systems, human comfort and staff wellbeing, means that production speeds are maximised and downtime minimised, helping you deliver increased productivity and profit.
Of particular focus are the potentially harmful hygiene implications, such as the risk of legionella and listeria, if equipment is not regularly serviced and maintained, and which is also likely to lead to increased costs down the line when having to work reactively to correct faults or outbreaks.
Breaching required rh levels can also result in consequences such as costly penalties, for example in Data Centres; enforced stoppage of research and trials in the case of pharmaceutical companies; or machine breakdown and/or damage to product such as in the case of print or packaging companies.
Humidity Solutions, is a leading independent specialist in humidity control, and designs, installs and maintains humidification and dehumidification systems throughout the UK. Engineer Eddy Capraro has responsibility for the planned maintenance contracts – a side which has seen steady growth in recent years. He comments: "Businesses are increasingly seeing the value of securing a planned maintenance contract with us as a cost-effective way of keeping equipment working at its optimum throughout its life, reducing workload and worry for site managers."
