Modular welding, clamping, jigging and assembly tables

12 June 2020

Siegmund modular tables and tools are designed for forming, clamping, assembly and welding. They are flexible, hard wearing and indestructible, according to Surface Technology Products (Surtech).

The system is said to be of particular interest to companies who use, manufacture and store jigs and fixtures and who have a remit to make savings on cost and time. The tables have a huge functional diversity, making it possible to realise complex application set-ups very quickly.

Each item of tooling can be used over and over again as fixtures can be quickly dismantled and rebuilt from CAD drawings to show the position of the tooling. They enable the user to choose between three base table versions with varying load capacities, dimensions, table leg height and structural hardness.

The tables are precision machined on the top and side tooling locations with scale for the highest accuracy and repeatability of set-ups. This precision is emphasised in every aspect of the product when multiple tables are connected together or mounted on support rails to offer unlimited expansion.

Surtech says the latest ‘Professional Extreme’ range offers the customer an 'indestructible' welding table with a lifetime in excess of 50 years, when correctly maintained. By using pre-hardened tool steel and a plasma nitride surface, the table can be used as a base for forming and bending and is extremely durable against accidental impacts, scratches, rust and weld spatter adhesion.

The tables can be used free standing on their own legs or in automated applications with welding positioners and robot systems. They can also be configured as a workstation offering additional portability and storage space.
