Machine health monitoring made simple

The new USB digital accelerometer by PCB Piezotronics is designed for predictive maintenance and condition monitoring.

Model 633A01 is a high-resolution, broad-frequency piezoelectric accelerometer with integrated internal digital data processing for USB plug-and-play capability, as well as easy data collection and sharing as it is compatible with a variety of software applications.

The device features a wide frequency range (1.5-11,000Hz with a ±10% tolerance) packaged in a stainless steel, hermetically-sealed housing with integral cable.

USB communication means that no additional equipment such as bulky analyzers, DAQ boxes, or extra cables is required. PCB Piezotronics says users can simply connect the accelerometer via USB to turn any device into a portable, handheld vibration meter spectrum analyser, to retrieve the data needed to create predictive maintenance plans and monitor the condition of the application during operation.

Thanks to its robustness the Model 633A01 can also be used in harsh applications. For example the digital accelerometer can be integrated in sawing machines for supporting the predictive maintenance on saw blades. Through an app, customers can access all data via USB and calculate when the saw blades must be replaced to avoid unexpected downtime.
