Expansion prompts move to new warehouse

14 June 2019

PPE manufacturer and solutions provider, Globus Group, has moved to a new multi million-pound warehouse and office facility on Manchester’s Trafford Point.

The purpose built 100,00ft2 headquarters has enabled key functions to be consolidated under one roof, having previously operated out of several locations within Manchester’s Trafford Park and beyond. The investment comes on the back of more than a decade of sustained growth and a significant increase in staff numbers, both underpinned by growing domestic and international demand.

Globus Group manufactures and supplies leading safety protection brands including; Alpha Solway chemical clothing, disposable respirators and hearing protection; Riley performance eyewear; ENHA head & face protection and Skytec hand protection. In addition, Globus Group has a strong collaboration with Showa gloves, partnering across the UK & EMEA regions.

The move has seen stock holding capacity increase dramatically, a manufacturing zone introduced and state of the art quality control systems enhanced. Office and conferencing facilities now span three floors and can accommodate 250+ delegates. The facilities give Globus Group the capability to hold large scale meetings, conduct training, deliver education seminars and engage with its customer base.

Since its formation in 1994, Globus Group has grown rapidly to become a key player and innovator in the PPE industry both domestically and internationally, winning the prestigious ‘Queen’s Award for Enterprise’ in 2017 as a result of its dedicated programmes of innovation and product development.  With a global footprint and facilities in Manchester, Annan (Scotland), Nonnweiler (Germany), Taipei (Taiwan) and Dubai (U.A.E.), Globus Group is well positioned to continue expansion through its enhanced service capability and new product development programmes.

In 2015 Globus Group acquired Annan-based company Alpha Solway, a leader in chemical protective garments and disposable respirators. This was followed quickly in 2016 through the creation and launch of rapidly growing performance eyewear brand Riley.  In 2017 German based manufacturer of head, face and eye protection, ENHA GmbH joined the fold, giving the group a state-of-the-art moulding and assembly facility.

Haraldur Agustsson (CEO), said: “We are proud and excited to move into our new premises, which is testimony to everyone’s hard work.  The move enables us to realise our ambitious growth targets, enhances service response times and provides a fantastic space to engage with our customers.”
