Finalist in three FLTA award categories

11 March 2019

The UK Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks Dealer Network is celebrating following news that its EDiA EM three-and-four wheel electric range has made it to the Finals in the FLTA Awards for Excellence – in three of the event’s four product categories.

Mitsubishi’s 48-volt electrics were shortlisted for Ergonomics, Safety and Innovation and for good reason, according to Stewart Gosling of Red Diamond Distribution, importer for Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks in the UK.

He says: “EDiA EM is by far our most agile and intelligent truck yet. But, on top of that, it offers the driveability and high-comfort features that we’ve come to associate with Mitsubishi. It's that combination which keeps operators productive and happy and employers efficient and profitable.”

In Ergonomics, EDiA EM was recognised for its operating space which has been optimised to keep drivers of all shapes and sizes operating comfortably with minimal risk of strain and fatigue.

Gosling adds: “What’s more, EDiA EM leads the class on manoeuvrability. Its >100-degree steering angle ensures no rear-end kick and it means that four-wheel models have the turning power of three-wheelers.

“But that’s just the start as you can specify EDiA EM three-wheelers with 'no-pause' 360-degree steering, eliminating the need for conventional three-point turns. It was this that impressed the committee creating the shortlist for the FLTA Safety Award 2019.

“Specifying this option means you’ll benefit from quicker load and lorry turnaround times – reducing energy in the process – and your operators will find it easier to manoeuvre in narrow aisles.”

A separate drive motor on each of the truck’s front wheels provides the precision needed for work in tight spaces, while minimising the risk of damage to trucks, stock and racking.
