Technical experts in maintenance and reliability announced as key speakers in new-look Maintec seminar programme

Taking place from 30-31 October 2019 at The NEC, Birmingham, the exhibition will host a packed-out professional seminar programme. All sessions will CPD accredited and approved by the Society of Operations Engineers who review each session prior to the event to ensure the highest level of educational quality.

The new-look programme will feature a variety of different session formats including; keynote presentations, in-depth case study reviews of active maintenance projects, technical focused sessions on new technology, panel discussions and educational in-depth seminars from leading educators.

Each day will begin with a keynote presentation with both sessions discussing the increasing role of digitalisation in modern maintenance. There has been a change in perception of the word maintenance which has previously evoked an image of a man wearing blue overalls but today, digitalisation is increasingly making inroads into maintenance, and offers wide-ranging potential for long-term and predictive maintenance. The maintenance function is characterised by digital services and mobile devices such as tablets and augmented reality glasses.

But how do we that the data needed for planning, processing and documenting maintenance measures is exchanged reliably? On day one, Gary Ingram, Sales Manager UK&I at Conference Sponsor Emerson Automation Solutions will talk on Accelerating the Digitalisation Journey with Operational Certainty.

Information Technology (IT) teams that are accustomed to working in spotless data centres now need to collaborate with Operations Technology (OT) colleagues who often work in dangerous industrial settings. What happens when OT and IT collide? If not managed well, the result can be a clash of cultures and a potential crisis. On day two, Martin Walder, Chairman of the Engineering and Machinery Alliance

(EAMA) and well-known in industry as Vice President Industry, Schneider UK will talk on Merging IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) to Maximise the Potential of Digitalisation. 

Also on day one, Bassey O Bassey, a Flow Assurance Engineer from Cranfield University specialising in petroleum production optimisation, will talk on operations maintenance in oil storage and offloading facilities.
