BITA (British Industrial truck association) has predicted a modest recovery for the lift truck market in 2010 with prospects for stronger growth in the medium term tempered by an uncertain economic situation and considerable risk factors. Compared with 2009, shipments of counterbalance trucks are expected to increase by 1.8% to 8500, and shipments of warehouse trucks are expected to increase by 6.8% to 8900.

Orders of counterbalance trucks are expected to increase by 15.3% to 9800, while orders of warehouse trucks are expected to rise by 7.8% to 9766.
