Pump manufacturer wins Carbon Trust award

Progressing cavity pump manufacturer NOV Mono has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for reducing its carbon emissions by more than 21% over the past three years at its manufacturing site in Manchester.

The Carbon Trust Standard provides a robust, objective and consistent methodology for assessing corporate carbon reduction performance. It recognises organisations that have genuinely acted on climate change by measuring, managing and reducing their carbon emissions, as well as committing to reducing them year on year.

Mono was awarded the certification for meeting the energy management and greenhouse gas reduction objectives of the Carbon Trust Standard, and for its implementation of a Carbon Policy, which outlines targets to reduce its carbon footprint by 20% between 2008 and 2011.

Commenting on the news, NOV Mono's safety health and environmental manager, Dave Collinge, says: “Being awarded the Carbon Trust Standard is an extremely positive step for NOV Mono, and something we can really be proud of, especially as only a bit over 450 organisations across the whole of the UK currently have this certification. It is great recognition for our achievements in energy management leading to carbon reductions and demonstrates our commitment to reducing carbon emissions year on year.
