Carbolite has supplied Fraunhofer
Institute for Physical Measurement
Techniques in Germany with a test
rig that comprises two customised
wire wound horizontal three-zone
tube furnaces. These will provide the
Institute with a versatile processing
system for studying and improving
the thermo-electrical properties of
advanced thermo-electric materials
and systems.
The two separately controlled, rail-mounted three-zone tube furnaces can be combined to form a single large multi-zone furnace or used separately to give two differently heated regions with a gradient of 200°C between the two. The desk and rail system affords vibration-free movement of the furnaces.
