Heat resistant seals last six years in thermo forming process

Available from official Dupont licensee company Dichtomatik, Dupont Kalrez Spectrum 6375 O-ring seals, which were fitted into thermo forming moulds producing components used in industrial process automation, have operated for six years at production steam temperatures up to 165°C without failure. This period of uninterrupted production has been calculated to represent a cost saving of nearly 140K Euro over the manufacturing period 2005-2010.

These cost savings result from reductions in down-time, with increased production reliability of the 14 large thermo forming moulds which represent the manufacturers' key compression moulding process.

Prior to the fitment of the Dupont Kalrez Spectrum 6375 seals, the moulding manufacturer needed to replace the original O-rings roughly every six months.
