Astins, a fit out and cladding contractor, hired 31 AFI scissor lifts to carry out a £10 million dry lining contract at Heathrow Terminal 2A but had been plagued by other contractors 'borrowing' the machines.
Since having KeyZone security keypads fitted to the machines, the problem has stopped. KeyZone is a stand-alone unit that locks and unlocks the machine's upper control functions. It can take eight digit passwords, allowing 100 million combinations.
