The EVC range of oil-proof connectors are general-purpose; the EVT range of water-resistant connectors are aimed at the food industry. The advantage of the Ysplitter, says ifm, is that it can use redundant ports in distribution boxes, reducing overall wiring costs.
The EVT Y-splitters have stainless steel components, EPDM O-ring, high shock and vibration and a temperature range to 100°C. The EVC range Y-splitters are more suited to machine environments.
