Point level in hazardous areas
18 October 2016
The latest versions of ifm electronic’s LMT point-level sensor is said to work reliably even where there is a danger of explosion.

The food-grade LMT, with its high-quality housing materials, such as high-grade stainless steel (316L) and PEEK, not only meets all requirements for hygienic areas but the new versions are also suitable for storage silos or tanks where potentially explosive materials are stored and are classified Zone 2 or Zone 22.
The LMT ATEX versions have IO-Link technology, allowing Industry 4.0 efficiencies to be achieved. The IO-Link also means that settings can be stored and changed remotely.
Whatever the medium – even viscous, sticky liquids or powders – the LMT is said to be the perfect level sensor for the job. The three available probe lengths can be installed easily.
