Accurate electrode sharpening

04 March 2013

Engineering Utilities has introduced, TIPWIZ, a compound that is claimed to sharpen tungsten electrodes to a far greater degree of accuracy than grinding - the traditional means by which welders sharpen tungsten electrodes - or any other means of sharpening, thereby allowing welders to be more precise in their work.

Also, whereas the grinding of tungsten electrodes on abrasive wheels and discs causes dangerous dust to be released into the air, welders need only dip their electrodes into the TIPWIZ, reducing risk to both the operator and the environment.
