Fans compliant with EU regs
02 July 2013
The EU's Energy related Products (ErP) regulations were a direct response to the challenge of the Kyoto Protocol to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 20% by 2020. To achieve this climate goal, the EU adopted the EuP Directive (Energy-using Products Directive) in 2005, which was renamed as the ErP Directive (Energy-related Products Directive) in 2009.
In essence, the ErP regulations are being introduced in 2 stages – stage 1 having been implemented in January 2013, with stage 2 following in 2015. For more specific information about the ErP Directive take at the ebm papst website.
The ErP directive applies to axial, centrifugal (forward and backward curved), cross-flow and diagonal fans with a power input of between 125W and 500kW.
By the end of the process, the EU will have the highest energy efficiency targets on the planet and being an industry-leader in this field, ebm papst, have been compliant with 2015 standards for many years.
ACI is a well established UK Distributor for the full range of ebm papst motors and fans in the area of "Industrial Engineering".
