4-way support
26 September 2013
To cope with the high volume of plastic profile systems handled at its plant in Skierniewice, Poland, VEKA Polska relies on a fleet of Combilift 4-way forklifts.

The multi-directional capability of the Combilift proved to be well-suited for handling the very long loads of extrusions and profiles at VEKA plants in Germany, and the 11 trucks in operation at Skierniewice are no exception. A mix of 6t and 4t capacity Combilifts work across the site transporting finished product from the manufacturing facility to three warehouses. Stillages of up to 6m in length are stored six high in racking bays before they are picked for despatch.
"The ability of the Combilifts to move sideways with these long and bulky loads has enabled us to rationalise storage to get the best use out of all available space,” says Director Zbignaw Ijnaczak. "With less manoeuvrable trucks we would need aisle widths between racking of at least 6m and would either have to pay for more space or be seriously compromised on our ability to store all the stock we need for our customers.”
