Versatile belt conveyors
31 July 2014
UPM Conveyors will highlight the versatility in design achievable with belt conveyors made from High Molecular Weight Polyethelene (HMWPE) that is FDA approved for food contact applications.

UPM were awarded the Queens Award for Innovation based on their design that eliminates the need to track or tension the belt offering zero maintenance plus a choice of colours.
HMWPE allows one conveyor to perform functions such as low product in-feed height and elevating to a work station via a 90 degree turn that traditional stainless steel conveyors would require at least three units to achieve. It is said to save space and cost, as well as lower power consumption.
UPM will also exhibit examples of knife edge conveyors including quick release tensioners for ease of access to the belt for cleaning and accumulation systems like Lazy Susans.
