Breath of clean air for welders

30 September 2014

Weldability-Sif has introduced Phantom Air, a new auto-darkening welding helmet, which comes with battery powered air filter unit that delivers a constant supply of clean air to the welder's breathing zone.

The air filter unit has a padded waist band and can be set to operate at either 180 or 220LPM, depending on the intensity of the application. The use of a P2 filter system ensures that the air bound particles and contaminants are removed from the air delivered to the breathing zone.

Filtered air is delivered to welders breathing zone via flexible hose, which is fitted with a proban cover to protect it from welding and grinding sparks.

The filter unit is fitted with a high capacity lithium battery that can last an 8h shift when operating at 180LPM, Should the flow be restricted, an audible alarm will alert the welder.

The shell of the helmet is manufactured from high impact nylon making it suitable as a full face grinding visor and when using for welding applications the filter unit will darken to between DIN 9 and DIN 13, which is variable from the side mounted adjustment knob.
