Electronic pressure switch
11 March 2016
A compact successor to the 50D pressure switch, the 51D from IMI Precision Engineering is suitable for all standard pneumatic applications and works precisely with an accuracy of ±2%.
Offering a response time of ±2.5ms, the switch can be used across pressures of -1 to 10 bar and -14.5 to 145 psi, and offers a repeatability of < ±0.2% of full scale for accuracy and reliability.
The 51D pressure switch is suitable for filtered, lubricated or non-lubricated compressed air, as well as neutral and incombustible gases. Switching status is indicated clearly by LED light, and users can customise the switch to their individual needs by selecting from a variety of system pressure units: bar; psi; Mpa; KPa; kgf/cm²; mmHg; InHg; or mmH2O. The system is easy and intuitive to use, featuring three buttons with a defined pressure point across two simple menu levels, allowing delay times and zero point suppression to be set.
Volkan Kücük of IMI Precision Engineering explained: “As well as being suitable for the safe control of a variety of compressed air and gas applications, the 51D pneumatic electronic pressure switch offers a host of additional benefits including resistance to vibration of between 10 and 55Hz and shock resistance, withstanding up to 980m/s².”
Weighing just 83g and easy to install, the 51D has two power outputs – 2xPNP or 2xNPN – and in addition to the standard thread screw connection, it can be mounted using a mounting clip on a DIN rail. Alternatively a wall/floor or cabinet mounting kit are available as accessories.
