Strengthening customer service

Located on a modern business park within easy reach of the motorway network, the new 3600ft2 centre houses a showroom and demonstration/training area, as well as a servicing/repair workshop, plus offices for customer services, administration and meetings. It incorporates what was the old Victor Technologies facility, which has now closed.

The building offers distributor and customer staff training, including City & Guilds Gas Equipment certification. It gives ESAB a better base from which to serve customers throughout the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and provides the company with a second UK site, which benefits customers in the North of England.

The facility is managed by Steve Waring, regional sales manager UK sales & marketing Europe, who has 32 years’ experience in the welding industry and 21 years with Victor Technologies.

Victor is the world leader in gas and safety regulator equipment. The company also includes oxy-fuel cutting and welding equipment such as oxy-acetylene and oxy-fuel welding and cutting equipment, torch handles, cutting attachments, straight cutting torches, gas regulators, cutting tips, welding nozzles, cutting and welding outfits.

Victor products cover the full range of needs from general industrial to heavy-duty mill and foundry requirements and offers users the safety benefit of built-in flashback arrestors and reverse flow check valves.

Global industrial giant Colfax Corporation, ESAB’s parent group, completed its purchase of Victor Technologies Holdings – the portfolio of welding, cutting, and gas-control equipment and technologies – in April 2014.

As well as ESAB and Victor Technologies, the new facility is home to all the other brands under the ESAB umbrella, brands including TurboTorch, Thermal Dynamics, Tweco, Arcair and Stoody.
