Dust information seminar
21 February 2017
Following two successful events in 2016, Dark Matter Composites and Composites UK are again teaming up to provide a seminar on the risks, generation, capture and control measures for both carbon and glass fibre dust.
The event takes place on 25th April 2017 at Dark Matter Composites’ facility in Hertfordshire, and builds on the information contained in the Composites UK online Health and Safety Management System (HSMS), giving a more detailed insight into this particular issue.
Dark Matter Composites designs and supplies extraction solutions and, as a long standing member of Composites UK, offers its support to the health and safety initiative offered by the Association by sharing its experiences.
In 2016, 20 companies attended these events. Philip Spinks, CEO of Oxford Advanced Surfaces, who was one of the delegates said; “The main issue with dust control I’ve found is managing your process correctly to minimise its impact, and the cost incurred to deal with what’s left. I very much enjoyed the course, it was concise and got the key points across well.”
John McGregor, HS&E officer for the Rolls-Royce CTAL Facility also attended, adding; “I learned a lot from my time on the course. The handout slides were very comprehensive and help to put the material delivered into force when I’m back at CTAL.”
Registration for the event is via the Composites UK website – www.compositesuk.co.uk/cfgf-dust – and discounts are available for members.
