Milling line extended
05 October 2017
Designed for flexible aluminium end milling, the 3041 Cyber Series of square-end milling cutters from Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has been expanded with a selection of corner radii.

The centre cutting 3-flute end mill line from ITC is suitable for a multitude of applications – from roughing through to finish machining, plunging, ramping, slotting, pocket machining and much more. This diversity is due to an innovative geometry and a high helix polished flute design that is carved from a high quality micro-grain substrate which makes the solid carbide end mill series suitable for aluminium alloy machining requirements.
The addition of the corner radii options for each diameter is well suited to 5-axis profile machining applications. The extended 3041 Series is available in diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20mm with an overall length from 38 to 100mm and a cut length from 12 to 40mm, depending on chosen diameter. The smallest 3 to 5mm diameter tools are now available with a corner radius of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1mm, options that enhance tool life by preventing edge chipping.
With radius options proportionate to the tool diameter, the 8 and 10mm diameter tools also include 1.25, 1.5 and 2mm radii. The 12, 16 and 20mm diameter tools have been extended to offer the 0.25mm radius increments up to 1.5mm with 0.5mm increments available beyond 1.5mm. For the 12mm diameter tool, this now includes a 2, 2.5 and 3mm corner radius whilst the 16mm and 20mm tools offer respective corner radii up to 4 and 5mm.
The 3041 Series can be applied to a greater range of profile machining and 5-axis processes, resulting in reduced tool inventory requirements and tool changeovers during machining cycles.
