Energy savings tot up
15 January 2019
When Grundfos Pumps carried out a pump-related energy efficiency check at whisky distiller, William Grant, it identified several areas where significant savings were possible.

Grants took the advice offered. Two new boiler feed support pumps were purchased, and their performance measured over a six month period. Initial results showed electrical savings of £56k per annum. Removal of the modulation valve saved £18k per boiler on maintenance costs. Steam quality was improved, and there were fewer breakdowns and steam issues on site. In addition there were gas savings of up to 9%. All these factors contributed to a very short ROI.
Grants has been so impressed with the results that it has put in place a planned schedule of Grundfos-based pump improvements.
- Science on a firm footing
- Easy pump replacement
- Taking care of hospital's pumping needs
- Going beyond the pump
- End-suction pump solutions
- One small change in boiler feed level control, one massive change for the better
- Pump energy check is on the ball
- What the papers say
- 50th birthday
- Obsolete pump replacement
