Norgren extends ELION actuator range
27 January 2023
WITH A focus on enhancing quality and safety within manufacturing environments, Norgren has extended its range of electric actuators with the introduction of the rod-style Norgren ELION with IP65 rating.

Its latest model has achieved the ingress protection rating designed to define levels of sealing effectiveness. Ideal for specification in harsh operating environments such as the food and beverage sectors, process applications including cement works, and powder transportation, customers can now benefit from the increased reassurance that the Norgren ELION IP65 rod-style actuator meets the international standard for ingress protection from foreign objects.
With OEMs and industrial users facing the continual challenge of achieving a clean operating environment for actuation control and operation, the Norgren ELION IP65 actuator provides a durable seal to prevent water, moisture and dust ingress to deliver optimised performance and reliability.
The IP65 rating is a further enhancement to Norgren’s already robust actuator range. With the cylinder manufactured from anodised aluminium that effectively prevents corrosion even in aggressive operating environments, the Norgren ELION IP65 actuator supports long-term use, minimising the need for maintenance and the costs associated with actuator replacement.
In addition, the Norgren ELION IP65 actuator offers connectivity benefits and is compatible for use alongside a range of industrial protocols such as Ethernet and Profibus. This can provide real-time access to important performance and status data streams to inform ongoing decision making and drive operational efficiencies.
"We are delighted to announce that the Norgren ELION range of actuators has been extended with the introduction of an IP65 rated, rod style option, meaning it is 'dust tight' and protected against water projected from a nozzle," said Simon Gass, product manager for Norgren.
"This offers reassurance to customers specifying the actuators for use in challenging environments across many sectors. With robust manufacture and a range of communication options that will ensure integration into existing customer systems, the Norgren ELION range can be specified with confidence."
Norgren's one-stop-shop solution offers customers a range of product services and support including complementary drives, cables, and accessories. The easy-to-use online product configurator tool provides machine builders and end users with the ability to purchase correctly sized solutions for the application in hand. And technical assistance, which can help with product queries is available through Norgren’s technical support services both prior to purchase and post-sale.
