Pump check-up results in energy savings

23 January 2020

A large office building in central London is reaping the benefits of replacing obsolete pumps with new, energy-efficient models following a Grundfos Energy Check.

The pumps now operate to meet actual demand and are delivering a saving 318,000kWh per year after the company followed through on recommendations they received having undertaken a Grundfos Energy Check. This amounts to a massive saving of £30k p.a., a large reduction in CO2 emissions and payback of just 2.8 years.

Many older pumps not only consume too much energy, they are also prone to failure that can adversely affect both the business and its maintenance budget. Grundfos says that, typically, it is able to achieve savings of 30-50% for customers through an Energy Check and pointing the way towards the optimal pump replacement that will achieve energy savings. Further benefits include reliable operation, reduced downtime and reduced repair costs. The result: greatly improved system reliability.
