Powered pallet truck nominated for safety award
06 December 2018
One of Combilift’s new products has been named as a finalist in the Safety Category of the FLTA Awards for excellence 2019. The Combi-PPT powered pallet truck, launched earlier in the year, was originally developed as a solution for a customer that wanted to enhance operational safety and product flow when moving heavy engine units around its premises.

The company was looking in particular for a piece of equipment which would offer multi-functionality across the plant when moving these large products in restricted or confined areas, and in line with a growing trend in the materials handling sector, it also wanted to use a pedestrian operated truck rather than a ride-on forklift.
Having developed the 16,000kg capacity Combi-PPT powered pallet truck specifically for this application, Combilift now offers models with standard lift capacities of 3,000 kg and 6,000 kg as well as higher capacities on request.
The Combi-PPT includes a feature common to all Combilift’s pedestrian models: its unique, patented multi-position tiller arm. This enables the operator to stand at the side of the unit rather than at the rear (as is the case with other walk behind brands), for excellent visibility of the load and the surroundings. This enables customers to adhere to the highest safety standards, eliminates any possibility of crush risk for the operator when working in confined areas and prevents product damage.
