Thames Water has installed
an EZstrip maintain-in-place
pump, from NOV Mono to
improve efficiency and cut
downtime at its Dorking
sewage treatment works.
Previous equipment that transferred sludge from the primary settlement tank into a picket fence thickener, was causing significant downtime.
Mono's EZstrip pump, which can be stripped down and maintained in 30min, provided the solution.
Gavin Parker, sewage works operator at Thames Water, says the Mono EZstrip sewage pump has significantly reduced maintenance and downtime and that because the pump requires no dismantling space, it was easily installed into space occupied by the previous pump with room to spare.
The range has a capacity of up to 165m3/h and 12 bar pressure and is available in cast iron or stainless steel.
