TLV Euro Engineering has
introduced the PowerTrap GT5S, a
stainless steel version of its
GT5C mechanical pump
and steam trap.
It is designed for small, steam-using equipment in food & beverage, pharmaceutical and laboratory applications or for equipment where water hammer can be a problem. Like the GT5C, the new unit automatically discharges condensate when pressure inside the process equipment is high, or purges condensate using steam as a motive medium, when pressure is low. The PowerTrap range prevents heat exchanger stall caused when process steam pressure drops below system back pressure, providing stable temperature control and preventing water hammer.
Other features of the compact design include: a low 155mm filling head that allows installation in areas where space is limited; the inlet/outlet check valves and motive medium intake valve can be removed and the body disassembled, while connected to the pipes; and it can handle high-temperature condensate without cavitation.
