Energhe S.p.A. has made Thermal
Energy International's GEM venturi
orifice steam traps its steam trap of
choice following rigorous testing at
parent company, Ferrero Group's HQ
in Alba, Italy. To date 150 GEM steam
traps have replaced mechanical traps
in the Ferrero Group's sites in Italy,
Germany and Ireland.
Instead of using a valve mechanism to close off steam for energy and water conservation, the GEM steam traps use the venturi orifice design to effectively drain condensate from the steam system. As they have no moving parts to wedge open or fail, they provide a high degree of reliability, and need only minimal maintenance and no spares.
