Pallet producer, FHG has won a 'Green' award for its sustainable pallets from De Telegraaf, a Netherlands daily newspaper. The pallet manufacturer was ranked third in the second annual 'greenest company in the Netherlands' awards, as decided by a judging panel from a shortlist of De Telegraaf's Top 100 Green Companies.

Ingrid Faber, CEO, said: "This prize is a huge honour for our company. We feel it is important to make a contribution to society via sustainable pallets and a socially responsible production process. It is good to see our efforts being recognised in this way." FHG believes it is important for the production chain to also be environmentally sustainable.

When a pallet reaches the end of its life, the wood is used for other purposes such as production of chipboard, biomass or bio-energy generation. In this way, a continuous loop is created in the pallet-pooling activities.
