Chemical manufacturer,
BASF, has installed four
EZstrip maintain-in-place
progressing cavity (PC)
pumps from NOV Mono.
In a bid to improve process efficiency and reduce downtime at its site in Bradford, UK, BASF turned to NOV Mono for a solution.
"Our existing pumps, which transfer a range of varying viscosity products, were often difficult and time-consuming to maintain," says a BASF spokesman.
"When NOV Mono told us about the maintain-inplace benefits of its innovative EZstrip PC pump, we knew it was the solution we had been looking for. "Thanks to Mono's EZstrip, we are able to fully strip down and maintain the PC pump, in-situ and within just 30 minutes. This was a massive reduction in time and it has, in turn, resulted in significant cost savings. So far, everything is running perfectly and we couldn't be happier with this new solution." NOV Mono describes the new pumps as "the biggest leap forward in progressing cavity pump design for 30 years." They are an extension of Mono's popular Compact C Range.
The EZstrip has been specifically designed to provide a quick and easy way to disassemble, unblock and maintain a PC pump in-situ.
The company says this significantly reducing the costly maintenance and downtime that servicing can sometimes cause.
