A trio of Discam units from NOV Mono are helping protect pumps at a major sewage treatment project in China. The Discam units, which have been installed at No 1, 2 and 3 sewage pumping stations in Fuzhou city, combine NOV Mono's grinder and screen technology to create an effective but low maintenance alternative to conventional pump protection solutions.

The Discams are installed at the inlets to the three pumping stations, where they screen and grind solids in order to protect the large submersible pumps used downstream.

Ian Hallows, NOV Mono's business manager for Waste-Tec products, says: "Packaged systems such as Discam are ideal for this type of application.

By screening and macerating solids in a single operation they can create major benefits in wastewater treatment processes. Efficiency is increased and the cost of cleaning reduced."
