Thermal imaging can be used to spot electrical faults in fully energised systems. The early-warning the technology provides can also help prevent fire, a factor substantiated by European electrical contractor, EGI.

European electrical contractor, EGI.
EGI originally invested in a FLIR T360 infrared camera to meet demand for thermal inspection in line with insurance requirements.
However, thermal imaging has become such a key part of the business that EGI has now taken delivery of a FLIR T440, which has Multi Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX). The device allows easier target identification without compromising temperature data. FLIR MSX embeds digital camera details into thermal video and stills. There is no need for separate digital photographs.
