Healthy boost to business
08 January 2014
An international healthcare company in Ireland recently asked Grundfos to look at providing a replacement pump solution to deliver 120m3/h @ 6.5 bar to replace two existing pumps.

Energy consumption was measured over a month and results showed that a demand of 240m3/h was only required occasionally. Therefore to replace the pumps with others that delivered the same peak flow requirement 24/7 would be a waste of energy. Instead, simply by installing a Grundfos Hydro MPC variable speed booster set, it was estimated that the company could reduce its energy bill from €40 to €17k p.a..
The final booster selection comprised four vertical multistage centrifugal pumps (CRE64-4-2). The energy results are better than the estimated €23Kpa saving and are closer to €25K.
