AireFlow indirect adiabatic AHU

06 January 2015

Airedale International has launched a range of indirect adiabatic air handling units. The AireFlow is capable of 100% free-cooling under ASHRAE recommended conditions (based on London ambient temperatures).

Indirect cooling solutions reduce the dependency on back-up mechanical cooling required to prevent contaminated ambient air permeating the data centre, removing the need for space-intensive internal air conditioning units.

The AireFlow is available in five footprints between 100 and 440kW with two separate case sizes providing roof and wall connection options.

Supply temperature is managed through modulation of the ambient air flow rate by high efficiency EC fans. As climatic conditions dictate, moisture is added to the warm outdoor air which has the effect of lowering the dry bulb temperature. In challenging environments, an optional mechanical cooling system will ‘top-up’ the cooling capacity with a partial DX supplementary cooling section.

An optional integrated fresh air inlet unit provides added installation benefits and reduces footprint in addition to maintaining room pressure and air quality. Other features include: G3 / G4 / F7 filtration, optional contaminant filtration, N+1 redundancy on EC fans and intuitive user display.
