Short term rental fleet

07 October 2015

As the Christmas season approaches, Linde Material Handling is seeing a surge in demand for its short term rental trucks.

Zuzana Golisova, short term rental manager at Linde, commented: "Having the largest capability of trucks in the industry means we can deliver a high specification, bespoke solution to meet our customers’ needs - whether they are looking for extra capacity for a week or for several months.

"Nowadays, businesses often turn to short term rental options due to tighter finances and also seasonal demands. Our modern fleet of 10,000 trucks ensures that the customer will benefit from the latest advances in product design, productivity and reduced environmental impact. In addition, our trucks are industry leading in terms of lowering fuel/energy consumption, and carbon footprint too.

"Linde hire trucks come fully serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines; essentially this means less downtime and improved value for the customer.”

Briston-based Frenchay Forestry Christmas tree wholesalers has repeatedly depended on Linde Fork Truck Rentals to meet the logistical demands of its annual Christmas rush.

In the run up to Christmas, Frenchay Forestry hires two counterbalance trucks to move about 40,000 palletised Christmas trees from the growers to garden centres across the UK.

Richard Whittle, partner at Frenchay Forestry commented, "The bulk of our business is completed in a three week period, working around the clock to timed deliveries, meaning we can’t afford any downtime.”

The 2.5t engine powered counterbalance forklifts are used for loading and unloading the Christmas trees onto lorries. These H 25 models, as with all the engine trucks in the Linde range, are fitted with Linde hydrostatic transmission which requires no differential, no conventional service brake and no clutch. The reduced level of moving parts in turn reduces the maintenance costs incurred, making these trucks suitable for busy applications of this kind.
