Training academy
29 November 2016
As part of an on-going strategy to strengthen service delivery, food industry contaminant inspection specialist, Loma Systems has established a global Customer Training Academy.

This latest initiative is designed to maximise production efficiencies by reducing downtime and further improving the performance of its ‘Designed to Survive’ metal detection, checkweighing and X-ray equipment.
Committed to supporting its customers through training tailored to their individual business needs, Loma has developed the academy’s courses to address the specific learning requirements of different production personnel. Operated from each of the ten Loma facilities located across the world, the half and one-day courses are segmented as Use (operator / QA training), Comply (supermarket Code of Practice), Maintain (engineer training) and Optimise (advanced bespoke training).
Anthony Norton, Loma Systems’ HR Director, comments: “Developing training programmes for our customers is one of the main goals of Loma. To optimise manufacturing efficiency, it is important they understand the basics of contaminant inspection and gain all the competence necessary to take full advantage of our metal detectors, checkweighers and X-ray systems. The Loma training academy courses are designed with their everyday needs and challenges in mind, and will help improve machine performance and increase productivity.
Anthony adds: “Working in a deadline critical environment can make it difficult to keep up with food industry regulations but our courses are regularly updated to reflect any changes, helping save time and expense in the long-term.”
All Loma’s courses are fully certified for customers’ training records and delivered by its highly experienced Field Service Engineers who hold SPA food safety passports and are HACCP level three accredited.
“Loma’s Field Service Engineers understand the pressures of keeping the production line running and maintaining up time. They add a real world element to the courses by addressing the key issues that customers experience on a day-to-day basis and providing the tools to ensure they take full advantage of our products in a range of applications,” Anthony concludes.
Loma training dates are selected throughout the year with the latest courses available to view on the website or by contacting local training managers. As well as fixed date training at its academies, the courses can be run on-site at customer facilities or other locations of their choice.
The supermarket Code of Practice training complies with the latest versions. Loma provides comprehensive course materials and both new and legacy machines are covered. Depending on the nature of the course, hands on and class room-based training is given. Customers can benefit from multiple course discounts or annual training contracts.
