UltraView - Ultrasound Camera for Leak Detection and Partial Discharge
22 May 2023
Compressed Air Leaks are a serious problem that affect most industrial facilities. About 30% of all compressed air is lost to leaks.
Using the UltraView for Energy Savings: Detecting Compressed Air Leaks
With the UltraView, maintenance professionals can easily find compressed air leaks by simply switching on the camera and watch how the leak locations show up on the screen. This way, it is possible to quickly cover a large area and find a significant amount of leaks, even at a safe distance.
For each leak, the UltraView will indicate its decibel level, leak rate and estimated leak cost, providing a quick overview of how much these leaks are costing per year.
Using the UltraView to find Partial Discharges: Avoiding Unplanned Downtime and Safety Issues
Partial Discharges are a very serious problem. When electrical equipment fails it can cause large periods of unplanned downtime and partial discharges can also be a life-threatening hazard to the personnel working at an industrial facility.
By detecting partial discharges, the UltraView can lead to significant savings by avoiding expensive downtime; and guarantee the invaluable safety of personnel.
Electrical failures such as corona, tracking and arcing can be easily detected. By simply pointing the camera at any electrical asset, the inspector will see the partial discharge locations shown on the screen. The camera can even distinguish partial discharges from other ultrasound sources, reducing the number of false positives, and thus making inspections much more effective.
