Hodge Clemco has installed
a self-contained blast room
with high-performance
sound insulation, abrasive
recovery and dust extraction
systems for Bodycote Surface
Technology in Lancashire.
It has been sited within one of the main factory buildings and measures 5m long by 3.6m wide by 2.5m high. Double access doors at one end allow for large components.
The booth's modular double-skinned panels have an acoustic lining, which reduces source noise by 30dB(A). Doors are interlocked to prevent entry while blasting is in progress, and walls are lined with rubber curtains to reduce abrasion.
Air inlet ducts and exhaust air outlets are positioned to ensure cross-draught ventilation to provide good visibility for operators.
