Evaporative cooling can reduce the energy cost of building cooling by over 90%, says EcoCooling.

As well as providing energy efficient cooling solutions at 90% less running costs than air-conditioning, the associated reduction in carbon can also provide solutions to carbon reduction targets if required. For smaller organisations interest free loans from the Carbon Trust are available enabling most projects to be completely self funding.

The company adds: "In addition, moving from air conditioning to EcoCooling will release power which can often be utilised for the expansion of existing production facilities. One EcoCooling unit covering an area of approx 200m2, uses the equivalent of 8amps, and costs approx 10p per hour to run.

35kW of cooling can be achieved from just 1.5kW of electricity."
