Interfuse specialises in the manufacture of precast masonry blocks. The manufacturing process for the concrete and lightweight building blocks uses a press to precast the products and a series of kilns to provide heat for rapid curing.

At its Gainsborough site, Interfuse has installed a Fulton FT-C vertical coil thermal fluid heater to replace a live steam system that was expensive to operate.

The unit is a fuel-fired, 4- Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), and will be used to gather accurate readings of pressure and humidity in the extreme conditions of the Martian atmosphere.

Vaisala's technology will be used to compile time series on pressure and humidity for the duration of the entire Mars Science Laboratory program, which is one Mars year, 686 Earth days.

pass heater design capable of operating at temperatures to 345°C. It is designed to provide high-fluid velocities and low-film temperatures for improved longevity. The system's compact footprint means it can be skid-mounted, accommodating ancillaries such as circulating pump, expansion tank and related pipework, to minimise floor space need for installation.

Len Parks, works manager, says operating costs for the thermal fluid system are lower than for the steam system and that thermal fluid is cleaner and maintenance costs lower.
