Managing forklifts
04 June 2013
Mentor's Managing Forklift Operations course was shortlisted in the Safety Practices category at IMHX's Design 4 Safety Awards 2013 for it's contribution to the promotion of safety awareness and incident reduction.

The course aims to eliminate the potential missing link between providing operator training and achieving a safe working environment. Unlike employees who regularly use forklift trucks, managers and supervisors are not required to be qualified forklift operators and Mentor sees this as a potentially dangerous knowledge gap.
Recognising that carefully-prepared safety procedures are only as good as the supervisors who enforce them, Mentor’s Managing Forklift Operations course equips managers with the specialist knowledge and confidence to stop a dangerous occurrence in its tracks. The course covers relevant legislation, responsibilities under law, potential penalties and key safety principles such as stability characteristics and pre-shift checks.
