Efficient mobile welding
15 July 2014
In addition to enabling welding in situations where there is no mains connection, a battery-powered welding unit weighing only a couple of kilos can also deliver benefits when run from the mains network or a generator – provided the appliance concept makes clever use of the assistance which the battery can provide.

This is the case with the AccuPocket from Fronius: as well as making it possible to weld without a generator or a mains connection, this ultra-compact welding unit is also claimed to produce superior welding results.
When it is used in mains or generator mode it places less strain on the energy source. This means there are no problems powering the AccuPocket from house service connections (lighting mains) and smaller generators.
