Performance in cold climates
26 November 2015
SZ-Steel, which stands for sub-zero, is a family of steel grades from Ovako with low impurity levels and controlled grain size that are specifically developed, designed and produced for use in extreme environments with cold climate temperatures and exacting conditions.

Designed specifically for use in sub-zero applications, SZ-Steel offers high impact strength at extreme cold temperatures of -40°C and below, and is proven at temperatures down to -101°C.
SZ-Steel grades meet and exceed key international safety standards, and their capabilities are proven across applications such as stud bolts, hydraulic equipment, drilling tools, axles or valves used in oil and gas, mining, energy generation, marine, offshore or mobile machinery.
