New premises, new equipment
30 March 2016
Continuing growth has led to a move to new premises for Scunthorpe-based Moulded Foams. Thorite was called in to supply and install a variety of energy efficient equipment.

The contract comprised the supply of a 90kW variable speed HPC compressor, a 55kW fixed speed HPC compressor with integral heat exchanger, an HPC energy saving refrigerant dryer, 5000L receiver and filtration, free standing heat exchanger, plus all necessary mechanical installation of pipework using 3in galvanised tubing. Moulded Foam will also take out a 5 year service contract covering all the equipment.
David Davies, Moulded Foams' plant manager, said: "The compressors drive 12 EPS moulding machines and I'm confident that by specifying the latest technology models we will soon be benefitting from significant energy and cost savings, particularly as the heat exchangers enable us to harvest the hot air produced by the compressors and use it heat our product drying facility, with the added bonus of a reduced carbon footprint. Thorite will also undertake regular ongoing service for the installation, providing complete peace of mind."
