Direct evaporative cooling

09 August 2017

EcoCooling direct evaporative cooling can be used as an alternative to air conditioning in most industrial buildings and server rooms, and is said to provide 90% energy savings at a fraction of the capital cost of a traditional air conditioning or ventilation system.

A simple system of just one unit provides up to 30kW of IT cooling from just 1kW of electricity or can cover an area of 250m2 in a typical manufacturing/logistics operation. The only service requirements are 240V electricity and a mains water supply.

EcoCoolers are safe, cost effective and require only simple maintenance. Advanced control systems connect to any existing BMS system. There are no refrigerants and the installation cost can be up to a quarter of the cost of traditional system.

The performance of an EcoCooler is dependent upon the temperature of the air and the relative humidity. In the UK humidity is always low when the temperatures are high so a drop in temperature of over 10°C can be achieved on the hottest days.

EcoCooling now has over 2000 industrial and 250 IT installations worldwide including Cummins Diesel, Net-a-Porter, TK Maxx, Decathlon, RPC, Decathlon, Cambridge University and Experian, case studies are available on the website.
