Fan coil units cut waterside commissioning costs by 80%

04 March 2013

A comprehensive £13 million refurbishment project at an office complex in London EC4 completed this year features well over 300 fan coil units manufactured by Ability Projects, which cut waterside commissioning times by 80%.

The building provides 75,000ft2 of Grade A office accommodation and has been awarded a BREEAM rating of 'Very Good.' The Ability 4-pipe fan coil units are a combination of EC/DC EVO 190 and 235 types, designed for space restricted areas, with capacities of 0.8 to 2.7kW (cooling) and 0.5 to 2.7 (heating). Each unit is fitted by Ability with a Delta BACNET controller and Marflow arrangement valve train assembly, complete with two port pressure independent valves, combined control commissioning valves, flushing bypass, isolating and drain valves and a flow measurement device.

Ability also extended the fan coils' condensate trays to accommodate this equipment.
