Fan coil units manufactured by
Ability Projects are playing a
significant role in air conditioning
services at the recently opened
research and teaching facility of
Oxford University Department of
Earth Sciences.
A combination of Ability 4-pipe EVO260 ceiling chassis and EVOVERT vertical fan coil units with capacities of 3.64 to 7.6kW (cooling) and 2.32 to 4.75kW (heating) are distributed throughout the complex. The wall mounted vertical cased units are installed in the IT rooms to supplement the downflow cooling provided by the ceiling units.
Ability EC-DC Evolution fan coils are said to offer reductions in electrical input of 75% and above compared to similar capacity AC driven equivalents plus infinite speed control and minimal heat generation.
